Congratulations to Diana Vader for winning Portrait & Illustrative Photographer of the Year and Michael Sauer for Commercial Photographer of the Year for 2011. Both Diana and Michael received their awards during January’s Installation & Awards Banquet meeting at Tapa’s restaurant in downtown Redding, January 19th. Photographer of the Year awards are given to the PPNV professional member that has entered a minimum of 5 entries in print competition, in a specific competition category, during the previous calendar year. The average total score of those members that have entered at least 5 prints in one of the Portrait, Wedding, Commercial or Illustrative categories is compared to other entrants in the same category to determine Photographer of the Year awards for that category. In 2011, the Wedding category did not have any entrants with the minimum number of prints and was therefore not awarded.

Robin Birmingham (Elections Committee Chair) has announced the results for the 2012 PPNV Board of Directors. The board will remain almost identical to 2011 with the addition of Karrie Ann Snure joining as Director. The board will be installed at the 2012 Installation & Awards Banquet scheduled for January 19th at 6:00pm. The location is tentatively set for Tapas, in downtown Redding. PPNV.com will have more details and sign up for dinner reservations starting December 26th of this year. Congratulations to the newly elected board!

2012 Board of Director Ballots have been sent via email and by ‘snail’ mail to those without email. Be sure to complete the online balloting and postmark your USPS ballots by December 15, 2011 for them to be valid in this election. Our 2012 officers will be installed in January at our annual Installation & Awards Dinner (location and date TBA soon).

Our Annual Holiday Potluck was a great success with approximately 20 members and family members bringing delicious homemade goodies to Michael & Billy’s home for a festive evening of games, drawings, print comp and super fun socializing.
