President’s Message October 2007
T’is the season, Fall is here! We are getting closer to the holidays and you know what this means…your customers will want family photos. Market…market…market yourself. The more time you put into your marketing, the more results you will see. Build it and they will come. Are you a member of PPA and/or PPC? If you answered yes then you know about all of the great things that each affiliate has to offer and if you’re not a member, then I would suggest to you is to take some time and browse through their websites; www.ppa.com or www.ppconline.com. I receive valuable information via email/magazines from PPA and PPC. It’s amazing the connection between yourself and other photographers. I’ve called other photographers from both PPA and PPC at times to ask questions and they are very friendly and helpful. There seems to be an instant connection when two photographers who belong to the same organization. As a professional photographer, I believe by being a member of these professional organizations (and others) you will learn and become better at what you enjoy doing. October is the month for voting for the new board members of 2008. Please be sure to mail your ballot as soon as you can once you receive it. The new board members will be announced at the November’s meeting. Good luck to all of you. For those of who made it to the pot luck it was nice seeing you there and for those who could not make it, we missed you. We had a great night mingling, eating and having a good time. Thanks everyone for all of your help. Print comp went well, under the lights, it worked out great! Right along with the planes, trains and automobiles, LOL. Please note, we will be taking orders I believe at the next meeting for those of you who would like to purchase a PPNV shirt (with embroidery). More details to follow at the next meeting. See you all at the next meeting. Your President,
Melinda Hunter “Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.”
