President’s Message

September 2007

Welcome to our new guests and our new members.  We look forward to you being part of this organization.

Cruzing right along and now we are in the month of September.  I hope everyone had a chance to read last months’ message regarding “Networking & Marketing.” Truly, if you want your business to grow this is a must.  You can out source to a company to do the marketing for you or you can do it yourself.  I prefer to do it myself.  For those of you, who attended the meeting when Michelle Lipowski was our guest speaker and she spoke on “Marketing”, remember to bring your NEW marketing piece to the next meeting.

Now is the time for High School Senior Portraits.  It’s so neat that there are so many different kinds of items/products that we can offer to our clients.  You must show what you want to sell.  A picture on a brochure really doesn’t cut it.  People need to see it, feel it and want it.  By having the product in front of your clients creates a sense of wanting it or got to have it.  There is more competition today in the photography world, you need to be able to offer and create a style that sets yourself apart from others.

I would like to thank our last month guest speaker, a photo journalistic photographer, Mike Burke for coming to PPNV.  Everyone enjoyed hearing what you had to say and share.  Thank you.

At the September general meeting I will open the floor for nominations for our 2008 Board Members.  If you are interested in running for a position, please refer to your PPNV Members Handbook and look in the By-Laws under “Duty of Officers” and this will explain what each position entails and which position you would like to consider.  If you have any questions feel free to email or call anytime.

The By-Laws have been revised by the board members and was posted at the August 2007 meeting and emailed out to the general membership on September 17, 2007.  If you have any questions or comments please email me.  When the By-Laws are completed and finalized a new version will be posted on the PPNV website.  I will email everyone to notify you that the revised version is ready for you to download and replace with your existing copy in your Members Handbook.
